Before the Figure

April 29, 2010

This is an update of the painting I’ve been working on. Right now I am working the figure into this piece. The whole painting has shifted from my original concept but I feel it is for the better.

Update time. My tattoo so far. And my paintings so far. I’m morphing them into one piece.

Just an update.

April 15, 2010

This is just an update to show I have managed to create all four panels to be at the same stage. I need to now re work my compositions with the figures so this piece can flow as one piece and so each one can stand alone.

I am just giving an update on my series I am painting. Today I painted the “Summer” landscape. In a couple days I will have “Fall” to the same level as these three. Next week I begin painting the figures. Also, the 17th is my mother’s birthday, and she wants to get a tattoo. So I decided I would go with her and get one as well. This is a rough sketch of what I am getting. It is a self representation with a tree growing out of my skin. Two birds sit atop the tree and one has a rose in his beak. This rose will be blue to represent my mother. She is getting a blue rose. Its pretty awesome considering two years ago I got a tattoo with my dad and now I am getting one with my mom. I’m pretty set on putting this on my forearm. Ill add a picture of the finished product after I have it. Enjoy your day! And remember, Give me feedback on anything you feel necessary!

The Lady and Her Bird

April 10, 2010

Today was a great day in figure drawing. I managed to get a few great sketches down in my sketchbook for future use. One image in particular I am making into a giant drawing. So far I am using ink and I may mix another medium in, but this is undecided at the moment. I think I’m branching into my concepts being “we are all connected to the earth”. Anyway, Its a lady, sitting upon her giant bird, on a tree branch. Tell me what you think if you’d like. I have also added a couple new sketches to the Sketchbook page. Have a great day!

The Seasons

April 8, 2010

I am working on a series of paintings inspired by a sketch I did a couple weeks ago in my figure drawing class. My concept is that we are all connected to the earth, we are a part of it. I represent this by having the figures growing from the earth through their spinal cords. I will be updating you all as I progress through my series.
